All memberships include: 24/7 access, wifi, utilities, insurance, shared storage facilities, restroom and kitchen access, communal workspaces and common area cleaning and the price includes HST.

Everyone is welcome at Akin regardless of skill level or experience! It is not necessary to submit a portfolio or C.V. to become an Akin member at one of our studios.

Akin Dupont (Limited Availability)

Akin Dupont, located at 1485 Dupont Street at the intersection of Dupont and Campbell Avenue, opened in December 2015. This facility features 56 studios spread across four separate units on the second floor.

We have a single Dedicated Studio available at Akin Dupont. This is a very limited opportunity due to the size of the Akin Dupont Waiting List.

DUP1A2: 55sf for $317/month available January 1, 2025.

This studio is located near the entrance to the studio, and the kitchenette and shared storage shelves. It is in a higher-traffice area in the studio, with some low plywood divder walls. Note as of Dec 20 this studio may have been claimed as we have had someone reach out about it - please email us to confirm if you are interested

Akin Queen East! Our newest East End Studio Space!

Akin Queen East is on Queen St East near Sackville St. and has 39 Dedicated Memberships (i.e your own studio), including private and semi-private options.

There are currently 8 different studios available, between 37 sqft for $243/month and 77 sqft for $415/month. There is also the option to combine multiple studios if you need more than 77sf.

Private Office: QUE 04: 500sf for $1275/month. This private office is on the lower level of the building. It has bright overhead lighting, built in shelving along one wall, and is completely private. It does not have windows. Available January 1st.

Shared Memberships are available for $78/month.

Studios at Akin Queen East

Akin Niagara! Our newest West End Studio Space!

Akin Niagara is located at 289 Niagara Street just south of Queen Street West. The studio is on the lower level of an apartment building in close proximity to Trinity Bellwoods Park.

Akin Niagara offers 27 Dedicated Memberships, each featuring direct window light. There are no private studios currently available.

Become a Member at Akin Richmond-Bathurst!

Located at 579 Richmond Street West, Akin Richmond-Bathurst is on the third and fourth floor of a beautiful old office building, with an open-concept layout, plenty of natural light, exposed brick walls and beautiful hardwood floors throughout the space. Originally a cloak making factory, the building was constructed in 1913. 

The fourth floor has 46 Dedicated studios (i.e your own studio) and the third floor has 37 Dedicated studios.

RIB 14a: 30sf, for $215/month, two canvas divider walls

Akin Davisville is located at 224 Merton St. inhabiting all three floors of the building (formerly a school), Akin Davisville hosts Dedicated studios as well as Shared Memberships in rooms with large, bright windows.

There are 45 Dedicated Memberships (i.e your own studio), including semi-private options.

  • 12 Dedicated Studios available: options ranging from 39 square feet at $252/month to 82 square feet at $438/month.

Inhabiting four floors of a large office building, Akin Yonge-St Clair hosts studios with large, bright windows. Located at 1 St Clair Avenue West in the heart of Midtown, Akin Yonge-St Clair is just across the street from the St Clair Subway station, in a bustling area with countless amenities.

There are 55 Dedicated Memberships available (i.e your own studio), including private and semi-private options

Located at 1747 St Clair Avenue West, Akin St Clair is a street-level studio that opened in September 2017 at the intersection of St Clair and Silverthorn. It features member-run kiln access and large windows facing the street. It’s easily reached by the St Clair streetcar. Akin St Clair has 60 regular dedicated studios.

    STC2O is located in the front room where there is a wall-to-wall window. This studio has 2 plywood walls and one structural wall.

    STC2G is located in the front room, right by the window. This semi-private studio is surrounded by plywood walls on two sides, a structural wall on one side, and a window on one side.

  • STC2E  and STC2F studios will be divided equally in size, each studio will be 66 sqft. Currently, two members are sharing the whole 132 sqft size studio which is $593/month. We will remeasure it to make sure to divide it into two equal-sized studios and separate it with tape on the floor.

Our availability changes every month. Currently Akin Dupont and Akin Richmond are at capacity and Akin Richmond-Bathurst has very limited capacity for Dedicated Members (but lots of Shared memberships still available!). We also have limited availability of completely private studios (4 walls to the ceiling and a door that closes) and studios over 150sf. If we do not have what you need currently available, you can join one of our waiting lists. We have separate waiting lists for each location.

Estimated wait times:

  • Akin Dupont: 8+ months for a studio for non-ceramics work, 12+ months for a ceramics studio, 1-2 months for a Shared Membership.

  • Private Offices (4 walls to the ceiling and a door that closes): 6+ months. There are private offices at Akin Davsiville, Akin Niagara, Akin Yonge-St Clair and Akin Richmond-Bathurst - they are all currently occupied. There is one private office available now at Akin Yonge-St Clair. Waiting time estimate for a private office with a window is 6-8 months. Waiting time estimatefor a private office without a window is 1-2 months.

  • All other locations: 1-3 months waiting time if we do not have an available space that fits what you are looking for.
